WHO WE ARE

Just the right balance between high-technology and research products. dataSpring has a proud family history that starts in 1999 with the founding of Voyage Group (VG). VG quickly grew to become a leading internet company in Japan. In 2009, it funded a subsidiary research company named Research Panel Asia (RPA). RPA, known for high-quality proprietary Asian panels and great service, was recently acquired by Marketing Applications Inc. (MApps), a leading Tokyo-based research technology company.

dataSpring, we’re a tech-based marketing research firm born from this DNA.

CEO, Masahiro Takanohashi

Joined VG in 2008 as a web designer. A founding member of RPA, Masahiro has been key in leading the firm’s aggressive global growth. His main areas of focus are development of panels, product innovation, and implementation of dataSpring’ sales/marketing strategy. Masahiro spent 3 months helping to set-up our Manila Operations Hub and has been in Shanghai since 2012. A graduate of Chiba University.

SVP, Rie Nagai

Rie Nagai

Joined RPA in 2009 after starting her career at VG. Rie helped establish the US Office and was quickly promoted from Senior Account Manager to VP of US Sales. In 2014, she was assigned as SVP of Global Business Development. Her primary role is to help dataSpring manage our Sales Team successfully. A graduate of Keio University.

SVP, Yoko Ohyama

Yoko Ohyama

Joined RPA in 2010 as an engineer. He began his career at Livedoor- a web platform provider. In 2011 he led our Development Team in China. Currently, Yoko is the chief architect of, and is a key player responsible for, systems that allow dataSpring to achieve its business goals. He was the lead developer in 2013 of our next generation panel monetization service; surveyon.

VP, Jeff Gerken

Joined RPA in 2013. Jeff has over 10 years of sales and MR experience; most recently serving as a Director at Federated Sample. Prior to that, he worked with Symphony, SSI, and insight express. At dataSpring, Jeff brings a keen desire to build lasting client relationships. He studied in Japan and speaks conversational Japanese.

Has 25 years of worldwide success building successful companies and designing people-centered HR systems. John worked in Japan for 5 years and speaks conversational Japanese. He has managed HR projects for some of Japan’s largest companies such as Toyota and Uniqlo. John's driving purpose is to build a people-centered work culture that is aligned with dataSpring's external brand.

VP, Saehee Kim

Saehee Kim

Joined RPA in 2010. Saehee has 10+ years of experience in both Japan and Korea IT industries, planning and managing online promotion campaigns. Some notable projects include Samsung Card (Korea), Nissan (Japan), and Chrysler (Japan). Saehee is also responsible for managing dataSpring's panel recruitement and panelist engagement.
