Account Manager (APAC)

The Account Manager for APAC is a sales-oriented position that requires self-direction, substantial client relations experience, and supervisory skills. This position reports to the Director, APAC Client Services & Operations and works closely with the Associate Manager and the rest of the team to attain sales targets in the geographic region assigned. The position’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) incubating more opportunities with existing clients by further cultivating relationships with these accounts, 2) expanding dataSpring’s clientele by converting prospects to clients, and 3) securing repeat business from new clients by ensuring that all their needs and demands are satisfied.



Account Management Activities:

  1. Works with Sales - Operations team in developing and delivering bid proposals to clients
  2. Assists the Sales - Operations Team with project management by setting deadlines, defining scope, and accomplishing project deliveries within the approved budget
  3. Takes initiative and responsibility in monitoring bids and projects' status by performing follow-up calls/emails to clients
  4. Develops sales plans (i.e. rate cards, partnership deals & agreements, etc.) to generate more revenue from key accounts and coordinates with the Operations Team Lead in implementing them
  5. Maintains regular communication with existing clients thru emails, calls, and/or face-to-face contacts to solicit service feedback, address issues, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  6. Communicates client feedback effectively and works with Associate Manager in resolving all outstanding issues related to speed and service quality

Business Development Activities:

  1. Undertakes market research for potential clients (leads and prospects) and provides this information to Management
  2. Assists Management in analyzing results of sales efforts, suggesting adjustments as necessary to improve business results and achieve success
  3. Provides accurate, timely, and regular reports to Management
  4. Represents the company professionally at various industry trade shows and conferences to increase brand awareness for dataSpring and ensure that ROI is achieved

General Management Activities:

  1. Manages Risk by constantly identifying financial and other risks to dataSpring and reports these quickly and accurately to Director, APAC Client Services & Operations
  2. Upholds the core values by understanding, communicating, and providing a good example of Springer to members, clients, and the community at large

General Activities:

  1. Maintains the good public image of the Company
  2. Functions as a cooperative and active member of weekly Account Management and Team meetings
  3. Prudently manages resources within budgetary guidelines to ensure profit
  4. Completes other administrative work as required (e.g. suggest supplies and job tools needed for Sales - Operations) and acts as an active team player
  5. Contribute to entire dataSpring (and, or other local offices), besides the tasks assigned above


Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

  • This is an office environment and typical physical demands apply. 
  • Must be open to working flexible hours in order to communicate efficiently with Global clients

Minimum Qualifications Needed:

  • Above-average written and verbal communication skills in English are required in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, partners, clients, and other parties.
  • Highly analytical and with an innovative mind-set
  • Must have a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure and show dedication to client services and business development
  • Passion for technology, ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and various sales management software, and proficiency in  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is a must
  • Ability to get along well with different personalities and to work well in small teams is required
  • Must have proven self-leadership skills 
  • Experience dealing with other cultures and diverse work environments is required
  • Must have professionalism, passion to succeed, and a motivation to reach higher goals

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's/College Degree is required
  • At least 1 Year of Account Assistant or Account Management experience in the Market Research (panel selling field experience is an advantage); or must have at least 1 year of experience as a Senior Project Coordinator
